  The G.A.P. Playbook

  1. All handsome guys are Players.

  2. Adulation and excessive flattery are tools commonly used by Players. Women are extremely susceptible to praise; therefore, Players use this technique to quickly break the ice and get their foot in the door. Players who are narcissists will even use this approach on random females in which they have no interest, all with the purpose of gathering admirers who can stroke their huge egos.

  3. A player relies on well-tested, scripted moves to create physical contact that appears accidental or required by the situation. He is acutely aware of the effect of his tactics.

  4. Players normally travel in packs.

  5. By any means necessary, a Player will try to make you feel special and different from all the other girls he’s ever dated. Don’t fall for it.

  6. A Player knows how to dress.

  7. Members should never allow a Player to come between them.

  8. Never share your secrets with a player. He will only use them to his advantage.

  9. Recognize when you’re in over your head.

  10. Be honest with yourself. If you think you’re susceptible to a Player’s charms, avoid him at all costs.

  11. When it comes to players, never trust your gut. As it relates to the opposite sex, millions of evolutionary years have conditioned you to confuse your gut with your loins.

  12. Players plan smooth dates.

  13. G.A.P. members must always help a sister in need.

  14. A Player’s sluttiness is directly proportional to the level of his egotistical good looks, and, in many cases, inversely proportional to the size of his equipment.

  ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

I want to thank Michael for his unwavering support. Without him this book would have taken a long time to finish. With his support, I was able to complete it quickly, while the concept and the characters were fresh in my mind. He listens to all my ideas with patience and grace. He selflessly gives me all the credit even when so much belongs to him.

I’d also extend my thanks to my editor Luke Anthony. Thanks for helping me polish the story and making it better. Also to my friend, Bret Williams, for lending an eye when it was needed and listening to all my craziness. To Clay Burt for helping on the technology side of things.

A huge thank you to Billie for always cheering me on no matter my mood or the weather. For reading every single thing I write and always asking for more. For being so wonderful and encouraging. For being my friend, my sister, my support through the ups and downs. To Subu for reading even the most unlikely of my stories.

Lastly to Isabella and Alexander for keeping me young and letting me borrow some of their time to use in the pursuit of my dreams.
